Completed

Major progress was made in our lives this weekend... WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!
We have decided to stay in Arizona. We have decided to finally settle down. We have decided that enough is enough. Dreams are good but reality is now and that is where we need to be.
It feels good to be moving on :)

And a plus, finally completed baby blanket for my new cousin Charlotte. I figure if she can wait 32 years to get here then I can be a few weeks late sending her present.

Updates and Thank You's...

I just smile right out loud when I see all the wonderful comments you have sent me. I am so honored to be thought of by so many warm, caring friends. Thank you -Thank you!

We have been so busy and it has been more of the emotional busy. Which is very tiring. I took this pictures of the girls Friday morning. Some how they both ended up in our bed and I had a hard time waking them up. They were sleeping in each other's warmth and who would want to stir this peaceful bliss?

Weirdly, I did manage to make this quick table mat for my mom. It came together really fast and I "quilted" it on my machine using the "Stitch in the Ditch" method and some free-handed loops in the corners all the while dreaming of what I would do if I had a real machine that quilted...

While holding my grandpa's hand last Thursday he told me "where I am, is where I am supposed to be". As I type these words I am still just in awe. To be 82 and have your whole life slammed to a stop with absolutely no control (he says's he is tethered...) and to have such amazing trust and faith.
It is something to aspire to.

My Sweet Relief

Ahh... Sewing is my sweet relief. Time when I can zone out and create. Use my hands to produce something. My mind relaxes and I am able to just be in the moment.
About 2 months ago I was talking to Kristie from Simply Stylish Designs and we decided to make each other the Jingle Jolly Table Runner from the Happy Zombie website. Here are the results. The one layed out is the one I received. I can't wait to do it again. It was a give (which felt good!!) and a receive (which was wonderful!!).
Here is a few pictures of the runner I made for my giveaway...
In a time in my life when I don't know really where we are meant to be I am so lucky to know who I am. When the questions are to hard to answer and the sadness and hurting of my loved ones seems too hard to take I can still go to that place where it is all right. Sewing helps me get there :)
Do you have such a spot?

Everyday

Well I can not quite say this month has been an easy one so far but there have been some nice moments. We are full in the realization that where we are living now is where we will be at least until the end of the school year. Good to know - so we know... but bad to know because it means slow progress to the next stop. The stop that I just can not wait for...

In these nice January moments I have been able to slip away and do a little quilting. Here is a top I made based on this post at the Moda Bake Shop. I will never, ever be able to quilt it like she has but it will fun to finish.

I took this shot of the girls playing "school". Carissa gets in trouble a lot by her "teacher" who can sometimes be rather controlling. I wonder what the other students are thinking??

And to ease my Mother's Guilt I have finally enrolled Carissa in dance. The experience (need I even mention it?) is far different from that of my first child. There are no tears, no anxiety over the outfit, or sadness of seperation - just a simple, see ya later mom...

My list is long of things to do, to make, to read, to accomplish. I will continue to share.
In the meantime, I just finished "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" by Susanne Collins. Great reads - give 'em a go :)

Amongst Boxes

We have found ourselves yet again amongst the boxes. The funny thing is they are the same boxes we moved only 14 months ago. We saved so many, in fact, if I packed according to what I had originally wrote on the box I could save a lot of time and take the guesswork out about what fits where. Ohhh but there is no fun in that. And lets face it... moving should be fun.

The first thing to get boxed up was all my crafting supplies. I knew if I didn't do that I wouldn't be able to stop. I was able to finish this quilt just in time. It is a scrap quilt from all the projects I have worked on over the past year and my absolute favorite by far.

My little girl has been such a trooper about this move thing (both girls have!). Although she asks everyday if we are leaving for Arizona I really am not sure if she even gets it. We kind of wonder if she will even remember living here? I know we will :)

On to packing more boxes. ~

Monday Evening

Just enjoying a rainy Monday night here. The girls are all cozy on the love seat coloring away together like they are the best of friends. Hair damp from their bath and smelling so sweet and clean. We are finally in a slow groove here and it feels great. Finished up this baby quilt and bibs for my cousins 2nd baby boy. If you know who it is don't give it away... they haven't received it yet :)

Reflecting on Hebrews 10:25 this week; "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
It is so true that meeting together brings the most joy in my life but meeting together to encourage always feels even more rewarding. This year I will not be able to attend MOPS at my church but I am praying God will lead me into another group. If you are a young mommy out there I highly recommend a group like MOPS. It can make your week feel so much more meaningful.
I am off to see if I can fit on that Love Seat too!

Memorial Weekend

Happy Birthday to my Sweet Kissa!!

3 is big - I mean really BIG! Here is what happened on the big day according to Kissa:
We had "pupcakes" and blew to the candle and all da prezents and Chuckie Cheese was scary.

It was great fun had by all and even Audrey "got used to" someone else getting presents and not her. But she does wonder how Kissa went from 2 to 3? We are all growing up aren't we?

Besides Birthday fun I was able to finish my scrap quilt. I hand quilted it and it turned out so lovely. Perfect for that baby that we don't have anymore... The girls don't like it because it isn't pink ... ahhh I so remember when they couldn't give their opinions.

It is 4:00 here. I should be off the computer and getting dinner ready and clearing any evidence of the other two meals and 10 snacks we have had today.
All our love ~

Quilting Away

My new dear friend let me rummage through her scrap box the other night and I was able to produce this table runner. As I was sewing it I was thinking of all the wonderful Mom's in my life that I could make it for. But I am so dang selfish because the minute I was done I "tried it out" on my end table and there she sits in her new permanent home. ~Lovely~

I am a scrap addict and just can't stand having fabric pile up from old projects that can't be used for something else. It is raining out today and I have nothing better than to sew these cute little stacks into something or other. It is all I can think about ~ I dream quilts...weird, huh?

Weekend Update

It seems like the faster the leaves fall the quicker time goes by...

We had such a nice Thanksgiving ~ Our table was decorated compliments of Audrey.

I finished this fall inspired quilt, just in time to pack it away for the red and greens.
It is so easy to get into the Christmas Season with the cool weather. We actually did decorate all weekend and spent Saturday downtown taking in all the Holiday events. The girls were such troopers and I am so sorry but I forgot the camera :(

I will be sure to post pictures of our Holiday decorations soon. All our love~
